The article considers the evolution of the theory of profit. The urgency of the analysis of this theory is stated. The views of A. Smith, D. Riccardo, K. Marks, and representatives of the neoclassical and functional approach with respect to the concept of "Profit" are analyzed. Also concluded that the modern concept of "Profit".
