The article discusses a heuristic approach to the formation of professional competence of future specialists (engineers and bachelors) when studying technical disciplines taking into account the trends of modern society’s development. The article notes the undoubted advantages of the use of active teaching methods to specific technical disciplines at the Department of «Machines and equipment of oil, gas and chemical productions» that implement all the essential principles of creative learning.
