At the era when the modern societies just arouse, scientific methodology began actively penetrated into the sphere of social science. Positivism quickly became popular in Europe and Russia. One of the first in world sociology who doubted in the positivism methodology were subjective school in Russian sociology. Russian sociologists believed that the study of social phenomena could not be truly objective, since it includes the views of the scientist, his emotions, and consciously chosen ideals. S.N. Yuzhakov did not fully agree with the methodological principle of P.L. Lavrov and N.K. Mikhailovsky but he continued the development the subjective method.
