Yuriy Ivanovich Nyashin (to the 85th anniversary of the birth)

A well-known scientist in Russia and abroad, Yuriy I. Nyashin celebrates his 85th birthday in 2020. Yuriy I. Nyashin is an scientific tutor and teacher, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honorary Professor of the Institute of Mechanics of Metal-Polymer Systems named after V.A. Beliy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Gomel), Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Professor of the University of Pisa (Italy), a prominent specialist in the field of theoretical, applied mechanics and biomechanics. Yuri Ivanovich's scientific interests are extensive: the problems of thermoelastoplasticity in metal forming processes (rolling, stamping), optimal control of the shape of thermoelastic structures (space antennas), the theory of large plastic deformations, mathematical modeling of biomechanical processes in dentoalveolar, circulatory and human musculoskeletal systems. As the organizer of science, Yu. I. Nyashin created the Perm Scientific School of Biomechanics, Russian Journal of Biomechanics, introduced a scientific approach to the educational process of bachelors and masters in biomechanics, ensuring the quality and success of the preparation of a Ph.D. thesis in graduate school. The breadth and depth of knowledge, intelligence of Yu. I. Nyashin allowed him to permanently head the Department of Theoretical Mechanics and Biomechanics of the Perm Polytechnic Institute for 45 years and prepare 33 candidates and 8 doctors of sciences.
