Southern monuments of old believe icon painting of the end XIX - the beginnings of XX centuries (on materials of private (individual) assembly of O. G. Kalnin)

A history of old believe icon painting on Ural is rather difficult to study. Icon painters from Old Believers, wandering on Russia, worked in various workshops, carried out various orders, organized a lot of small workshops consisted of 2-3 persons. Most likely, result of work of one of such workshops also were the Ural icons collected by collector Oleg Kalnin. On character of performance of the personal letter it is possible to allocate three various manners of performance of these icons, three handwritings. A manner of performance the letter, characteristic gold assist, the personal letter, speak us about affinity of the given collection to a circle «Nevian icons». At the same time, here we see the special features uniting a collection and making it integral, that allow to draw a conclusion on existence of uniform workshop in territory of Southern Ural.
