On the analysis of the problem of determining the value and cost of information used to manage an innovative project

The value of information is considered as its complex qualitative characteristic, integrating a number of private indicators affecting the appropriateness of its use in the framework of innovative activities. It is shown that independent approaches to determining the generalized indicator of information quality from the standpoint of efficiency theory, on the one hand, and quality economics, on the other, lead to practically equivalent conclusions. A practical problem of forecasting the expected value of information is revealed, caused by the a posteriori nature of the applicability of the Kharkevich information value criterion, while the minimum heuristic criterion aims to use rational decision-making models that require large expenditures of computing resources and time. The article discusses the approaches to solving this problem.
