On the discussion of the concept of the source of law

This article highlights the current concepts of sources of law presented in modern legal literature. Within the framework of the performed research, an analysis of various approaches to the definition and classification of sources of law was carried out, including the points of view of such authors as V.A. Chetvernin, G.B. Libertarian and A.V. Polyakov. Special attention is paid to formal legal sources and their role in the expression and consolidation of legal norms, as well as the differences between non-textual and textual sources of law, highlighted by A.V. Polyakov's communicative theory of law. The article also raises the issue of classifying sources of law, emphasizing their importance for understanding legal culture and the evolution of legal systems.
