To fauna of ground beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) Western Khentej (Mongolia)

The list of ground beetles of Western Khentej includes 62 views from 18 genera and 11 tribes. The basis of fauna is made by the types of genera characteristic of Siberia (Carabus, Pterostichus) and Central Asia (Harpalus, Amara and Curtonotus), that makes 65% of a specific diversity. On number the views from the genera Poecilus, Carabus, Pterostichus giving in the sum of 83% from the total number of ground beetles prevail. Finds of ground beetles confirm that Western Khentej is a considerable barrier to distribution to the west for forest nemoral East Palaearctic types (Carabus smaragdinus, C. billbergi, C. aeruginosus) and to the south for taiga Palaearctic (Chlaenius tristis, Bembidion infuscatum, Pterostichus dilutipes) types. The analysis of zoogeography has shown that through Western Khentej there pass zoogeographical width boundaries between a taiga of Siberia and steppes of Central Asia and the longitudinal borders in Palaearctic connected with features of transfers of moisture from Atlantic and Peace oceans (Central-Palaearctic, Trans-Palaearctic and East-Palaearctic types dominate). Features of ecology of ground beetles in the conditions of the valley of river of Eroo, the right inflow of the Orkhon - Selenga Rivers are studied. The main biodiversity of ground beetles is concentrated in a flood plain of the river where meadow and forest landscapes with the increased moistening of soils are developed, and the smallest - in mountain steppes on the southern slopes of the valley where considerable dryness is noted.
