On the characteristic of mesolithic in the North-Western Caucasus (materials from the Dvoinaya cave)

In the paper is presented the characteristic of materials from two Mesolithic layers of the Dvoinaya cave located in the Gubskoe gorge (North-western Caucasus foothills). Recent excavations give grounds to suggest a scheme of development of stone industry in the Caucasian Mesolithic, and compare the obtained data with those from other sites in the North-western Caucasus. Stone associations of the Dvoinaya cave show close similarity with the sites of the Baksan gorge. Single obsidian finds from the cave collection point to the population movements from east to west.
