The article continues the series of publications devoted to the historical experience of far-eastern literary and art almanac “Soviet Primorye”, the name of which has changed several times throughout its history. The article reviews the 1959-1962 period of almanac's history when its name was “The Pacific Ocean”. The reason of almanac's name change is covered by the article as well. The analysis of archive documents shows the problems that almanac has faced and reveals the reasons that eventually led to its suppression. The author of the article pays special attention to the role of AUCP(b) in almanac's history. Every aspect of almanac's publicistic activity - from the issue's content to its distribution - was under the full control of Primorye party committee. The Soviet party organs also had the exclusive right to either publish or dismiss the issue.
