The article deals with individual problems of the development of the mathematical faculty of the Kuban State University (KubSU) from 1970 to 1991, i.e. from the moment of its secondary discovery, participation in this development of scientists from leading mathematical centers of the USSR. The 70-90s were the period of the formation of the Kuban State University, when the influence of scientists and scientific schools of other universities was significant. The personnel policy is discussed, in particular, the replenishment of the faculty of the Faculty of Mathematics by graduates of Moscow State University, issues of opening the basic physics and mathematics school of the university, summer and winter physics and mathematics schools are also touched upon. The listed activities are directly related to the first mathematicians who arrived in Krasnodar, Vice-Rector of KubSU for science, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University, Igor P. Mituyk (01/06/1928 - 09/25/1995), a representative of the Rostov school of mathematicians N.V. Govorov (12/05/1928 - 1981), head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis of the Kuban University, a graduate of the Physics Department of the Kazan University Z.B. Tsalyuk. The 80s were the beginning of the Development of Applied Mathematics Research at the Faculty of Mathematics under the direction of V.G. Lezhnev, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University, and now a professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Kuban State University.
