Assessing poverty rate in Russia

The author suggests assessing poverty levels among Russian people with the use of absolute, subjective and relative principles of its definition. On the grounds of the detected increase of the disparity between a subjective assessment of one’s economic circumstances and the official assessment of poverty, the author offers a way to narrow this gap.
