The article raises the issue of elaboration and introduction of pragmacommunicative and functional approach into the process of teaching Russian as a closely related language. The author covers relevant psycholinguistic aspects of bilingualism and distinguishes verbal and nonverbal communication levels in the process of information perception and interpretation within the framework of intercultural communication of the Russian and Bulgarian linguocultures representatives. Special attention is given to the specificity of gesture signals as important communication units while applying complex methodical approach.
