Toward the problem of analyzing research emphases of political sociology in Russia and the world

The article presents an analytical review of some areas of research in the framework of political sociology based on the works of Russian and foreign experts. The analysis revealed both general and local trends that reflect the nature of social changes and events in 2018-2019. First of all, it is the influence of social networks on the political behavior of citizens, while foreign papers present larger-scale studies and meta-analysis of the impact of social networks on international political processes. In Russia, such studies are more local and are more interesting for individual specialists than for the scientific community as a whole. Main attention is focused on the analysis of interaction and mutual perception of the state and society, the study of protest activity of the population.
