On the problem of determination of the status of comparative phrases as phraseological

The article is devoted to finding the solution to one of the problems of phraseography – determination of the status of comparative phrases in speech either as free or fixed (phraseological). The traditional approaches based either on grammatical, logical properties or semantics of the phrases are regarded. Using the predecessors’ concepts the author marks the criteria of phrases reference to phraseological comparative units, and describes the technique for determination of phraseological nature of phrases, which has the following five steps: to establish reproducibility of the comparative phrase, its syntactic function, idiomaticity, artisticity and integrity as a logic structure. The analysis procedure of the phraseological units is illustrated by the dialect data got from the dialect dictionaries of the Perm Krai. Moreover, peripheral and allied language phenomena in dialect speech are identified.
