Towards the problem of defining trends of the modern electoral process in Russia

The article offers the author’s vision of the trends of the electoral process in modern Russia in the context of the forthcoming elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The author considers the features of the modern electoral process, estimates the factors influencing the actual political situation. In conclusion, the high importance of identified trends for electoral forecasts is emphasized.
