On the reflection of the social and cultural solidarity foundations in the modern world: a friend-or-foe confrontation

The issues related to the new content of the friend-or-foe opposition are determined by the need for coherence and cohesion of the modern society inclined to the heterogeneous and diverse social and cultural practices in the context of the continuously changing reality. The growing gaps of different kinds, including intra-cultural ones, force the researchers to provide a deep reflection of the situation to devise the tools for the consolidation of the contemporary society. Re-evaluation of traditional values seriously exacerbates the conflict potential of the present-day society and complicates the identification process that is evident in the domestic culture. The evolving big data culture generates the new communication space which further increases the gap in a friend-or-foe opposition with regard to the generation gap as well. The recognition of the equivalence of Other’s social and cultural experience in the modern world brings to the fore the difficulties in developing proper ideas about Russia in the global community.
