The article examines the problematic aspects of the world economy, which continues to suffer from a number of destabilizing shocks. After more than two years of the pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and its global impact on commodity markets, supply chains, inflation and financial conditions, as a result of economic sanctions, have exacerbated the slowdown in global growth. In particular, the impossibility of doing business due to sanctions is leading to a sharp increase in prices and volatility in energy markets, with the improvement in activity of energy exporters more than offset by headwinds in most other countries. Numerous risks could further undermine what is now an unreliable recovery. Among them, in particular, the possibility of persistently high global inflation, accompanied by sluggish growth.
