On the issue of unemployment in Russia epochs of market transformations

The article is devoted to the consideration of some features of unemployment in the Russian economy during the period of market transformations at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries. In the course of this study, it was determined that the specifics of Russian labor relations of the time under study, when large job cuts were avoided by reducing workers' wages, were largely due to stereotypes rooted in society based on the equalizing nature of labor. It was also noted that the problem of labor surplus or shortage of personnel in the country's industry was relative, determined to a greater extent by the economic condition of this enterprise.
