To the issue of the definition of terrorism

The article considers different researchers' approaches to the revealing distinctive features of terrorism. The author points out three groups of such features: motive, purpose and modus operandi. It is proposed to introduce the concept of radical ideology into scientific use to denote the specific system of views existing both in terrorism and extremism manifestations. The issue of criteria for distinction between terrorism and extremism is considered in the article. The author's definition of the term "terrorism" is formulated.
