Concerning tolerance development in adolescence and youth environment

Today, the formation and development of tolerance culture, social competence of the younger generation, which includes knowledge and skills on how to build positive relationships with different people in a diverse and multifaceted world, is a priority. This article analyzes the problem of tolerance development in adolescence and youth environment in conditions of small towns of the Far North, multi-ethnic in their composition. The author analyzes the sociological survey results concerned with the value attitudes of young people, interpreting the tolerance as a form and method of social relationships with members of other ethnic and social groups, as well as considering the essential reasons underlying such social phenomena as nationalism, religious and ethnic intolerance and extremism.
