Possible classification of different flows of Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land in the second half of the 19th century

To date, domestic and foreign historical science has accumulated a significant amount of materials that allow a broad and objective analysis of the specifics of various streams of Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the second half of the 19th century. The article offers for consideration some parameters of their broad classification according to a number of criteria, some of which were previously very rarely combined in this kind of actions. This may be important for understanding the processes discussed in the article. The author concludes that there were at least three main streams of Christian pilgrims in the Holy Land during this chronological period, the differences between which can be traced in a number of important and significant characteristics described in the text.
