To the question about the key categories of the theory of economy based on knowledge

The article analyzes the key categories of the knowledge economy theory, which made it possible to clarify the content of the terminological constructions "knowledge-based economy", "information economy". The aim of the study is to identify the differences between information and knowledge to substantiate the prerequisites for the formation of the knowledge economy in the modern world. The presence of various approaches to the content of the modern model of the economic system was revealed, which proceed from the definition of ICT (model of information economy) or knowledge (model of knowledge economy) as a backbone element of society.
