To the question of credit cooperation in Russia in 1918-1920 (on the documents of the Middle Volga region)

The article discusses the policy of the Bolsheviks regarding credit cooperation and the pre-revolutionary bank system of Russia. An overall aim, which was pursued by the Bolsheviks in liquidating Moscow Public bank, loan and savings, credit and financial associations was to withdraw their significant financial assets and establish centralized control over them. At the same time, operations on grain procurement, purchase of agricultural machinery and fertilizers automatically stopped; the country’s food system more than a half of which was financed by the Moscow Bank, collapsed.
