The article is devoted to birdwatching, the rapidly growing direction in ecological tour-ism. Modern birdwatching as a form of ecotourism is characterized by the formation of various forms and types of activities – from traditional excursions to specially equipped birdwatching places. At the same time, there are different consumers of services in ornithological tourism, they can be professional ornithologists or tourists first attends an ornithological tour. Misunderstand-ing the needs and demands of the audience in birdwatching often generates tourists' dissatisfac-tion with the quality of the services provided, and in fact, the product does not meet their expec-tations. Such dissatisfaction also affects the efficiency of the organizers of ornithological tourism (low attendance of ecological trails, low income, decrease in attractiveness of birdwatching as a tourist activity, etc.). Therefore, this article is aimed at studying the audience of consumers of tourism services in birdwatching. The article studies and identifies the basic activities in bird-watching, considers the existing approaches to the typology of tourists in ornithological tourism, describes the requests of birdwatchers and develops the authorial typology of birdwatchers-tourists.
