To the question about the methodology of studying Russian neopaganism

The paper defines the methodological approaches to the study of new paganism and the forms of transmission of the knowledge gained. For the scientific analysis of a multifaceted and dynamic phenomenon, a clarification of the conceptual apparatus is proposed, the signs of classification are identified and the ways of identifying semi-otic markers of their belonging are determined. Depending on the chosen scientific paradigm and the definition of the essence of the phenomenon of neo-paganism, it is proposed to choose the appropriate methods of its research. Broadcasting knowledge about neo-paganism, it is suggested to take into account the peculiarities of its perception in various target audiences - scientific, student, pagan and mainstream. Revealing the peculiarities of “external" and “internal" researchers allows us to conclude that it is necessary to form a single platform for a comprehensive study of the phenomenon of new paganism from the standpoint of academic science. The priority directions are determined by the personalistic (biographical) approach and semiotic analysis of neo-pagan terminology and symbolism.
