To the issue of international standards of juvenile justice

The paper is devoted to the guarantees established by international legal acts for the protection of the rights of minors in the administration of justice in a criminal case. The concept of an international standard is considered, international legal acts, concerning juvenile justice are analyzed. It is concluded that the minimum guarantees for the protection of the rights of minors in the administration of justice in a criminal case are in some degree taken into account by the Russian legislator. Attention is drawn to the fact that many procedural guarantees of juvenile justice, provided for by international legal instruments, have not been fully taken into account. Judges survey also confirms this point of view. The conclusion is drawn on the need for further legislative work to bring juvenile justice in accordance with international standards.
