To the question of motivators for women’s entrepreneurship activity on the example of Volgograd

The article examines the importance of women's entrepreneurship as a factor in economic growth and a driving force for the development of society. An analysis of the factors motivating women to start a business was carried out, based on in-depth interviews (N=7) conducted in the city of Volgograd and data from research centers. In Russia, public policy attention is paid to the development of women's entrepreneurship, which is supported by the creation of centers offering educational programs and events that encourage women to enter business. Research results also show that women entrepreneurs in Russia dominate certain business sectors, such as healthcare, services, food and crafts. The article draws attention to the fact that women enter into entrepreneurial activity for a variety of reasons, including the desire to control their careers, achieve financial independence, bring about social change and gain prospects for growth.
