To the issue on the best form of government: historical and political science analysis and modern view of a problem

The article presents argumentation on the best forms of government with the reference to the authors of the Ancient World, Middle Ages, New and Contemporary Times. The author points out the problems of perception of the western-style democracy which the Russians chose in 1993 when they voted for the new Constitution. The issue of the fate of democracy in modern Russia is also raised.
