To the issue of the name of the western Buryat long invocation song - ай дон

The article presents the etymological analysis of one of the most famous naming of the Western Buryat lingering invocation song ай дон дуун, also known in the tradition under the names хаахиргаан дуун and зэргэйн дуун. The study of this song is especially important as it still represents an underdeveloped genre of the traditional song culture of the Buryats and, therefore, deserves special attention.
