On the question of the figurative meaning of borrowings

The beginning of the XXI century is a time of significant transformations in the Russian language and directly in the vocabulary. The lexicon of the language is replenished not only by new words, but also by polysemy. The article analyzes the figurative meanings of foreign language vocabulary borrowed by the Russian language in recent decades. Conclusions are drawn about the nature of the figurative meaning.
