To the question of approaches to the selection of athletes at the initial stage of preparation (for example, football)

The main issue for consideration in this article is the effectiveness of the applied methodological approaches to the selection of athletes (on the example of football). The purpose of our work is to give a brief description of the selection methods used and to develop recommendations for their use in working with schoolage children. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that the system of initial selection of young athletes, based on systematic and integrated approaches to solving the tasks, should be provided with the most favorable conditions for the full identification of the resource potential of those involved. Both the coaching staff working with this contingent of children and qualified experts with the necessary competence in the field of sports should take part in the organization of sports selection.
