On the issue of legal personality of artificial intelligence

The authors consider the concept of legal personality of artificial intelligence (AI). The basic software-synthesized abilities of some types of intelligence are identified. They conclude that AI can only have special legal personality if it has certain abilities. Depending on their availability and scope, AI in some cases can be defined solely as a tool used by a person, in others - as an electronic subject of law.
