The legal basis of detention as a measure of state coercion applied by law enforcement officers

Introduction: the article deals with the issues of application by law enforcement officers of such a measure of state coercion as detention; it considers the grounds and procedure for restricting the freedom of citizens, as well as the rights and obligations of public authorities arising in this regard. The existing legislation has a number of shortcomings in the regulation of the order of realization of certain coercive measures, in this regard, the author suggests possible ways to eliminate the existing shortcomings in this area.
