The article is devoted to the development of forensic science in the context of the rapid introduction of information technology and digitalization of society. The article considers current challenges and trends arising in the field of forensic science in the era of information technology, as well as the role of digital innovations in the transformation of investigation methods and the work of law enforcement agencies. The main attention is paid to the issues of using artificial intelligence, digital technologies, as well as their implementation in law enforcement agencies to improve the effectiveness of the fight against crime. The need to improve the theoretical and practical basis of forensic science in the vector of new challenges associated with the expansion of opportunities for criminal activity in the virtual environment is considered.
