Russian military music of the second half of the 19th century

The reform of the military band in the second half of the 19th century had important consequences for the development of naval and army bands. The improvement of the orchestral composition, the abolition of a lot of harmony of wind instruments, the training of military bandmasters and other significant transformations in the military orchestral business of those years are considered in this article.
