The paper gives the analysis of the role and the place of traditional holidays in modern world under the conditions of globalization. The author of the paper underlines a versatile character of the given processes. On the one hand, she points the tendency to globalization, unification and integration of the holidays, and on the other hand, observes the conservation of cultural differences and traditional holidays.
