The national project «Education» and its constituent federal projects, the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of the SVE to the results of mastering the training program of specialists made it necessary to solve the problem of forming a value-semantic attitude of future teachers to their professional activity. The article examines the manifestations of this attitude among first-year students of a pedagogical college. The article reveals the criteria and indicators, the characteristics of the levels of formation of this phenomenon in accordance with the cognitive and need-motivational criteria. It describes the research methodology, provides data characterizing the motives of the choice of the teaching profession by first-year students, and their ideas about future activity. The results obtained became the basis for planning the content and stages of innovative activities of the staff of the Troitsk Pedagogical College.
