On the issue of the region social development

The article analyzes the origin and use of the term “social development” in foreign and domestic practice. The authors note that for the first time by sociologists, this term was applied directly to the person as a person, and has also been used for a long time in relation to society. It is concluded that today the very content and direct directions of social development in relation to the development of the region are poorly studied and poorly specified. Analytical work was carried out to study various approaches to the concept of social development, and the authors proposed their own formulations of regional social development and the social sphere of the region.
