This year we mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism. The article examines the problem of preserving the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War. The author uses historical, comparative and predictive methods in the article. In 2009, the OSCE General Assembly decided that the two totalitarian regimes in Germany and the USSR were responsible for unleashing the Second World War. The violation of historical truth in this OSCE decision certainly shows the attempts to manipulate history by Western society. After this decision of the OSCE General Assembly, monuments to liberators, soldiers of the Soviet Army, began to be demolished in Eastern Europe, especially in Poland and the Baltic countries. Since the USSR, as well as Germany is also guilty of World War II, according to OSCE, therefore, Soviet soldiers are not liberators, but conquerors of Eastern European countries. This approach to the origins of the Second World War speaks of the falsification of history in Europe. In Russia, the historical truth, the preservation of memory and respect for the ancestors who heroically defended the borders of the USSR, respect for the multinational and multi-religious people are the core of their patriotism, unity and the unceasing path of respect for Russia.
Historical memory, falsification, great patriotic war, demolition of monuments, neo-nazism
