To the issue of the state and tendencies of drug crime in the Russian Federation

The article considers with issues related to the negative impact of drug crimes and illicit drug use on the common crime rate in the country. Criminal activity in the field of illicit drug trafficking is analyzed, being as an interrelated system for drug cultivation, production, manufacture, transportation, distribution, wholesale and retail marketing, and, at the same time, the use of drugs for non-medical purposes is considered as an incentive for its functioning and reproduction. It is noted that in modern conditions counteraction to crime in the field of illicit drug trafficking is of a complex character, including measures of various contents and, firstly, such measure as increasing the efficiency of law enforcement activity and realization of the inevitability of punishment, as well as improving the legislation. The author draws the attention to the issue of the suppression of distribution and consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in dens as socially significant trend of the activity of the law enforcement system
