The article deals with the essence and content of such operational-search activity as the study of objects and documents. Having analyzed the regulations of operational-search and criminal procedural legislation together with the already existing law enforcement practice, the authors give grounds to the changes in the legislative content of operational-search activity "the study of objects and documents".
