Speech timbre and timbre analysis of journalistic texts in English

The article looks into the notion of speech timbre as a rhetorical pattern combining accentuated and less prominent elements, within the framework of academic research by the English Linguistics subdepartment of the Philology Department in Lomonosov Moscow State University. The final part of the article gives an example of a linguostylistic analysis, and timbre analysis as such, aimed at singling out logical, compositional and linguistic peculiarities of a text conducive to conveyance of its primary message.
