On the westernization of the Constantinople empire under the Comnenians

This article is an extended review of the monograph by A. Yu. Mitrofanov The Time of Anna Komnena . The article focuses on the problem of Westernization of the Constantinople Empire in the 11th-12th centuries. The other question is to what extent this problem can be studied according to the Anna Komnena’s historical treatise The Alexiad .
