The article is devoted to the review of software for scanning and recognizing a musical text. The most preferable interface «Sharp Eye Music Reader» has been chosen due to its user friendly character and accessibility for the average user. The article considers the main stages of musical text recognition, main functions of the program chosen, as well as the necessity of introducing this process in the professional activities of a musician and a teacher.
