The paper presents a hypothesis concerning the origin of the Slavonic translation of an excerpt from Corpus Areopagiticum in the Letter to Nicodimus. The author maintains that the translation of the extract belongs to early versions of Starets Isaiah's rendering of the Corpus Areopagiticum. The hypothesis is supported by both historical facts and textual evidence.
