On the question of the origin of dance ditties in Russia

The article discusses the nature of the appearance of the ditty in Russia, its sharp popularization in the late XIX - early XX centuries. Particular attention is paid to the available scientific versions of the appearance of the dance ditty. The author gives seven versions of the appearance of ditties, analyzing and comparing them. The article emphasizes the importance of a thorough study of the dance ditty, as a folkloric genre, on which choreographers and folklorists rely in their work. The author raises the question of the need for an in-depth study of the Russian regional dance ditty, since the dance ditty, as well as the dance under it, is a huge layer of species, subspecies, performing, musical and dance features in all regions of Russia.
