On the question of the relationship and mutual influence of the transport industry and the Russian economy

The aim of the work is to study and identify the dynamic interrelation between the indicators of Russia's gross domestic product and freight turnover of transport. The analysis of the relevant statistical indicators for the period 1991-2016, based on the results of which a close correlation between GDP and freight turnover indicators was revealed. The characteristics of the dynamics of GDP and freight turnover of the country's transport are given, taking into account the geopolitical factors that developed in the relevant period. Conclusions are drawn about the presence of a dynamic link between the indicators under consideration, the thesis about the primary importance in this connection of the transport industry in the implementation of global innovative transport projects is substantiated.
