Revisiting the actual issues of establishment and development of institution of presidency in the Russian Federation

The machinery of the Russian state was established and continues to develop through the implementation of the principle of separation of powers with its system of checks and balances in the process of building of modern statehood. However, in the field of national security the emergence of new challenges and even threats implies further optimization of the institutions of state power in the Russian Federation and the reform of certain elements of the state machinery, including the strengthening of verticality in the system of public administration and the development of the legal institution of the presidency, in this regard. In the presented article an attempts is made to understand the historical-theoretical context of the institution of presidency on the basis of modern ideas systematization of the scientific community, as well as the analysis of prospects of its develop- ment in the Country. In the paper an attempt is made to comprehensively consider the role of the President of the Russian Federation in the state machinery through the establishment of the value of presidency for the constitutional state, without claiming to be compre- hensive and final conclusions.
