Concerning attribution of images on the kostenki-avdeevo spatulae

The majority of Kostenki-Avdeevo spatulae bear characteristic images. Their semantics relate them with the objects with mixmorphic (zoo-anthropomorphic) images with combined woman and animal features. The author presents analysis of their morphology and comparison with the palaeozoological data. Cross-checking of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic elements on the spatulae shows that animal may be identified to class only, and reliably attested to predators, due to schematic character of the images. The system of ornamentation is stable and related with the anthropomorphic meaning of the objects. Correlation of ornamental compositions on the spatulae and the Kostenki-Avdeevo female statuettes is established.
